In “Flamenco Gala Dinner 2025” Spanish and U.S. artists celebrate cultural exchange through an elegant evening of flamenco, music, and art.

OVERVIEW:  The Flamenco Gala Dinner 2025, organized by TorcuArt in collaboration with the Latin American Music Center and The Catholic University of America, serves as the Annual Recognition Award Ceremony honoring GALA Hispanic Theatre. The evening celebrates artistic excellence and cultural exchange between Spain and the United States through music, dance, and gastronomy.

Program

  • Key Note speaker: Mr. Antonio Álvarez Barthe, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C..
  • Musical Program: Diego Valdivia, a flamenco pianist and composer from Algeciras, began playing music at age five and has since become an internationally acclaimed artist whose works have been featured on major TV networks and stages around the world, blending Andalusian passion with cinematic flair.
  • End of Gala Dance Party.

TORCUART

TorcuArt was established in 2020 to promote classical Flamenco and Spanish Guitar and their associated disciplines —including dance, song, poetry, and visual arts— in the United States by organizing performances, conferences, workshops, and other activities that bring together artists, students, and the general public.

Multi-Grammy Award winner and critically acclaimed musician Paquito D’Rivera joins audience favorite Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra for an evening of sizzling Latin jazz. Born in Cuba, D’Rivera is “a marvelous soloist in Latin—and mainstream—jazz contexts” (JazzTimes), with rich skills on clarinet, saxophone, and in composition, all rooted in a background of classical and traditional Cuban music. With more than 30 solo albums, a National Medal of the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Award, D’Rivera is celebrated both for his artistry in Latin jazz and his achievements as a classical composer. Founder, artistic director, and virtuoso saxophonist Jim Carroll leads the orchestra, comprising some of the area’s finest musicians. 

This performance is appropriate for all ages.  This performance will be captioned. 

Tickets: $55, $48, $35 (prices include fees); half-price for youth through Grade 12 
 Run Time: approximately 90 minutes, plus intermission
