Annual Housing Symposium Hosted by George Mason University Costello College of Business and the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority

Housing professionals, developers, advocates, and others interested in Fairfax County’s affordable housing industry are invited to join the Fairfax County Housing Symposium, taking place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at George Mason University in Fairfax.
The day-long event will feature elected leaders, industry professionals, policy experts, affordable housing users, and others who are working toward the common goal of a Fairfax County everyone can afford to call home.
Attendees will participate in discussions about affordable housing development and preservation challenges; the ‘lived experiences’ of affordable housing; the direct line between homelessness and housing; and other Fairfax County housing topics. They will also enjoy a brief tour of One University, Fairfax County’s new premiere affordable housing community located next to George Mason University. The new community, scheduled to be completed this Spring, will feature affordable independent living senior homes and multifamily apartments as well as student housing.
Details about 2024 presenters and registration can be found on the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development website. The event is free to attend.

Join us for a brief tour of One University – a new, premier affordable housing community located adjacent to the campus of George Mason University. This is a first-come, first-serve tour limited to 100 attendees of the Housing Symposium. The redevelopment of One University, anticipated to be completed by spring 2024, will include 120 affordable independent living senior apartments, 120 affordable multifamily apartments, and 333 units of student housing. Be the first to take a sneak peek at this beautiful, new development which will serve families, students, and older adults for years to come.

Bus transportation will be provided to and from One University. Limited to 100 attendees.
