Background:
The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond (FRBR) is part of the Federal Reserve Bank, and is responsible for supervising and regulating a wide range of financial institutions including those that operate exclusively in small rural towns or bustling cities, across multiple states within the Fifth District (DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina) as well as some of the largest financial institutions that operate across the nation and around the world.  They also provide research data and resources to regularly engage regional leaders and policymakers to understand and address community‑specific economic issues.

Event:
On September 30th, we are hosting a CEO Round table with small business owners and Tom Barkin, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where we will learn how the Federal Reserve is implementing its monetary tools, and how lessons learned from the volatile inflation periods of the (1970s and 1980s) can help us identify a path to a stable and predictable economic future. Also, we will share impressions from the small business sector regarding micro-economic measures and the impact of Inflation on cash flow and employment costs since Hispanic American SMEs added $2.6 Trillion to the GDP by 2019.  What would happen now?
  • This roundtable serves to hear about the 1st activity after the Fed’s release the Forward Guidance, and how businesses in the United States can forecast the 1st and 2nd quarter in 2023.
  • Our goal is to create a two-way conversation between the small business community and the Federal Reserve to prepare contingency plans to “soften the pain.”
  • 50% of small businesses are 10 years old. 11% of businesses are 26 years old, the current inflation rate shows numbers that we haven’t seen in 40 years. Lessons learned and how to navigate the inflation environment to help us identify a path to a stable and predictable economic future.
  • How to apply this insightful data/two way discussion to manage business cash flow and workforce cost and more.
* This event is a private event with limited space available.  For information and sponsorship opportunities contact us
at (703) 839-8140 or by email events@novahispanicchamber.com using Federal Reserve September 30 on the subject line.
